PayPal
may be in the midst of a turnaround but Wall Street still expects the payments company to post a sharp drop in earnings when it reports third-quarter financial results after the bell Thursday.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect that PayPal (ticker: PYPL) will earn $0.63 a share on $6.8 billion in revenue, according to generally accepted accounting principles. Adjusted earnings are forecast to be $0.96 a share. In the year-ago quarter, PayPal posted GAAP earnings of $0.92 per share on $6.2 billion in revenue.
